First of all, thank you so much! We’re still recieving messages, comments and likes on our facebook page and Instagram. It’s been an amazing week for us. We’re so psyched to see so many people excited for indoor climbing and can’t wait to see you guys in the gym. But first we have to build it.
This is a BIG project and we’ve never done anything like it. There is so much more to an indoor climbing gym than you first think about and it’s been a steep learning curve. Obviously we’re not doing the actual walls ourselves, that’s all done by the amazing team at ICP, but there’s still the office, storage rooms, reception, cafe and training area.
I know what you’re thinking, the only important part is the walls, and damn do they look good.
The walls are super important to us, without them we’re not a climbing gym, and without good walls the route setting suffers and climbing stops being fun.
More than just a gym!
But we want to be so much more, we want to be a community space, a hub for climbers to relax, work, meet and boulder. We want a space that lets us host movie nights, gives you room to study after climbing or just chill out with a coffee and a book.
So this last week we’ve been working hard! We’ve been building our office and storage space, working with qualified tradespeople but doing a lot of heavy lifting ourselves. We’re a small privately owned business supported by our families, which means the budget is tight. So we’re making sure we do a lot of the hands on work ourselves. Let me tell you, it’s been a serious learning experience, but progress is happening and we’ll be sharing some pictures of our work soon.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support. The community has rallied behind us and there are a lot of excited people out there.
If you would like to help support us further then please head over to our shop. We’ve just recieved some more sizes for the flow singlets so be sure to check them out!
